Mad Ernest Vern locked himself in his basement with enough stolen plastic explosives to blow Gravestone into orbit. Find his basement and confiscate the explosives peaceably before he hurts someone.
On complete:
Apparently Ernest blew himself up and continues haunting the basement anyway. Despite fighting with you, he didn't seem terribly upset about his new condition.

As of 11/06/2014, this appears to be bugged. Using the entrance will just take you a graveyard across the zone.

3rd July, 2014 - everything related to Explorer path is fixed. I just got 100% in all zones including Malgrave and Blighthaven.

This path mission has been fixed as of 7/02/2014. You can certainly complete all explorer path missions up until Western Grimvault. We shall see if all explorer path missions in the upcoming zones in the latest patch can be done as well.
