0Gemminie Greygyre wrote 9 years ago (in Drop 6 - Reloaded)How this challenge works: Domesticated Roans, Cubigs and Jabbits constantly appear in the small farmyard in this plot, and small Ikthian ships appear above them and try to abduct them with their tractor beams (glowing white), lifting them slowly into the air. The challenge: You have 1 minute 30 seconds to free 15 animals from the Ikthian tractor beams. To begin the challenge, intercept the tractor beam by jumping through the beam above an animal (jumping through the animal itself also counts -- jumping below it doesn't, though, so once it's high in the air you may want to quit wasting your time on that animal and move on to another). The beam will flash brightly when you successfully intercept it, so you can tell when it counts. Here's the part that wasn't immediately obvious, though: It only takes one interception of the beam to free a jabbit ("Squeak!"), but cubigs take two successful interceptions ("Oink?"), and roans require three ("Moo?"). If you stand right on one of the animals just after it spawns and double-jump straight up just as the beam appears above it, it counts as intercepting the beam twice, once on the way up and once on the way down. Sometimes if you can get some hang time within the beam it will count twice as well. Using a mount is allowed; hoverboards work quite well for this. It doesn't count if you're standing on the ground right on top of an animal as the tractor beam appears, even if you're taller than the animal, and even if you're on a hoverboard and technically not on the ground; you must be jumping in the air for a beam interception to count. As with many of these housing challenges, completing this grants 100 challenge points toward the housing reward track. You can successfully complete it once every 30 minutes, and you may try again immediately if you fail.
